Who is Forbidden Publications?

Forbidden Publications is a full service, royalty paying e-publishing company that offers a wide variety to its readers and authors. We offer both erotic and non-erotic selections for your reading pleasure. Our hope is that we can offer something of interest for everyone.

We challenge our authors to go beyond the tried and true and create well-written stories with solid plots, well-developed settings and gripping characters that are fully realized. Authors are encouraged to stretch the limits. We want originality, and creativity is a must.

Based on level of content, all books displayed on our website will be listed according to our heat index. We offer stories from sweet (no sexual content or language) to extreme (very graphic sexual content and description) and everything in between. We publish all genres: fantasy, science fiction/futuristic, suspense, humor/satire, historical, poetry, paranormal, etc. in PDF, HTML, HTML-zipped, and LIT format, but will be expanding into other formats, including print, in the future.

We offer a standard one-year publishing contract and pay royalties of 40% of the cover price of all download sales from our website.

 

What are E-books? Why are they so popular?

E-books are just like your paperbacks, the only difference is that you can read them either on your computer screen, or you may purchase an E-book reader. By reading e-books, you have the power to buy and read from the comfort of your home. They come in many formats and you can choose the best one for you. Also, they are a way to save you money. E-books are considerably less in cost than your paperback or hardback. Another thing to consider is the font sizes. They may be too small or too large, and with your computer or device, you can change this to suit your needs.

What formats are available?
Our books are available in PDF, HTML-zipped and LIT formats.

Can I get a refund on an e-book?

No. There are no refunds on downloads. If there is a problem with the download, we will make sure you are satisfied with your purchase, but you can't return it because you don't like the book.

Can I exchange my e-book?
Please be sure to choose the correct format when ordering. Exchanges will be made only in extreme circumstances. We will do our best to provide our customers with a pleasant buying experience.

How do I receive my books after purchase?
Our shopping cart is designed to email you a link immediately after purchase that will allow you to download your e-book. Occasionally emails can be slow, so please allow a few hours for the email to arrive.

 

If for any reason you don't receive the email with your download link after a reasonable amount of time,  please contact customer service department.

What book lengths do you offer?

Our books come in a variety of lengths from short stories to super epic novels. The word count for each book is as follows:

 

Shorts: 5,000 to 9,999 word stories.
Novella: 10,000 to 14,999 word stories.
Mid-Category: 15,000 to 29,999 word stories.
Category: 30,000 to 49,999 word stories.
Novel: 50,000 to 69,999 word stories.
Epic Novel: 70,000 words to 99,999 word stories.
Super Epic: 100,000 words and above.

What are the heat level ratings and why?
Our ratings are really simple. Here are the rating levels and what you will find between the pages:

Sweet: A well-written story with little or no sexual content or hard language.
 

Sensual: A well-written story with minimal sexual content or strong language. The sexual content would not be considered extreme in nature.
 

Carnal: The heat is on. Sexual content and language will be strong and detailed. These stories will be very descriptive and explicit, leaving nothing to the imagination.
 

Extreme: Just what it says, Extreme. Though the author must follow the guidelines of what is and is not allowed, the sexual content and language will be very explicit. These will be stories "off the beaten path" so to speak, delving into typically non-traditional relationships and situations.

 

Will Forbidden Publication also offer print books?
We do plan to offer print books in the future. This will take more time, as we are checking into all options so we may offer you, the reader, a fair price with top quality.
