Lightning stood watching as Thunder rode the wind home. She missed him already, still wanting to feel him deep inside her, loving her with an endless passion. She never tired of his strong body pressed against hers, his lips plying her with kisses that stirred her body to heights of ecstasy that renewed them both. She wanted to cry out for him to come back to Storm Meadow, back to under the weeping willow tree to take her once again amidst Mother Nature’s beauty.

Wild flowers grew in abundance; their white, yellow and purple flowers nestled amongst the thick, green grass. It was a bed made for lovers. The waterfall nearby crashing into the pond reminded her of Thunder’s mighty roar and how mighty of a lover he was. Her lover, she thought, as Sun’s majestic glow flooded her with warmth.

Lightning watched as a fireball streaked across the sky to land before her in a fiery ball before shimmering into a more human form. Lightning looked at the woman before her, shorter than her, with a stocky build and dry, wrinkled skin. Her reddish orange hair was cropped short. It was Sun. She backed away from Sun’s brightness but stood her ground because Sun, in her human form, was not as deadly as she was in her ball of fire form. Lightning could touch Sun now and she wouldn’t get burnt, unless Sun decided to throw flames at her.  Sun was no match for her like this and she had just restored her strength.  “What do you want, Sun?” she asked.

Sun glared at Lightning. She had always been jealous of Lightning’s beauty. “I just had an interesting discussion with Mars. He told me a secret about you,” Sun answered in a deep, husky voice.

Lightning became concerned but didn’t allow Sun to know, keeping her calm demeanor. “What secret of mine could Mars possibly know?”

“I know all about your nighttime trysts with Thunder. How you meet under the willow tree in Storm Meadow. I know how you fulfill your sexual desires and how you renew your energy.”

“That’s none of your business.”

“I’m making it my business! I am a mighty force. During the day I rein and you can’t do anything about it!”

Lightning laughed. “I’m not afraid of you, Sun.”

“No? You should be, bitch. I will destroy you and take your staff. Then it will only be a matter of time until Thunder dies and I have his hammer. Then I will rule the skies.” Sun raised her hand, her fingertips flames of fire. She flicked a small flame at Lightning’s feet, satisfied when the flame licked at the grass and caught fire. Lightning moved back a step, but she wasn’t about to let Sun know she was frightened.

“Don’t mess with me, Sun. You’re vindictive and power hungry. I won’t let you hurt Thunder or me.”

Sun’s face grew redder. She raised her hands and shot a ball of fire at Lightning.

Lightning jumped out of the way as the ball of fire landed beside her. She raised her staff. “If you want a battle here, then you’ll have one!”
